Bohemian, free and uninhibited, this is how Núria Fortuny plays with her brushes and colors on her canvases. As from her earliest childhood, when her first scribbles began to take shape, the talent has always accompanied her. like a rough diamond she has cared for her talent, polished and worked it until the day of today. When we look at any of her paintings today we discover a high-carat jewel brimming with innocence, sincerity, candor, transparency and a lot of strength.
It seems like yesterday, when a young Núria left her parental home in her native Lerida to pursue her dream. That dream was still very hidden then but has never been as close as now. She studied at the renowned Massana University in Barcelona and like many other artists she ended up working as a freelance illustrator. But Núria needed more and demanded more from herself. Not happy with being a mere pawn in the service of advertising she decided to find herself, to show the world her talent.
With little more than a suitcase full of dreams and no money in her pocket, but always drawing a shy smile, she settled on the paradise island of Formentera. Sleeping homeless, but sheltered by the stars above, she discovered that painting on clothes could very well make her a living on the beaches and small island markets. She brought her art from one end of the island to the other: from "Far de la Mola" to "Es Cap", she even flirted with the tattoo world, to finally discover that each time she painted something, a very deep part of herself stayed there for posterity.
However, the paradise island Formentera, outgrew her talent after living there for 5 years. And fortunately for us, once again, Núria Fortuny was very brave. Recently she has landed in Barcelona with her easel on her back, again with a suitcase full of dreams and her eternal shy smile. But unlike years ago, Nuria now knows what she wants. She has lived and is more experienced. Her art and her talent have been defined and refined. Nuria is ready now. Let's enjoy Núria’s work! She and her talent have much to show.
